• HACCP certification: Used in the food industry to ensure food safety by managing factors that can cause hazards during the production process.
2. Safety certification: Such as CE (Conformité Européenne) for products approved for circulation in the European market, or UL (Underwriters Laboratories) for electrical products.
• CE Marking: The CE mark indicates that a product meets health and safety requirements in the European Union. Products such as electrical appliances, medical devices, and toys often require this mark.
• UL Mark: Underwriters Laboratories' certification mark for electrical products and safety equipment. Products must undergo inspection and testing to achieve this certification.
3. Environmental certification: Such as ISO 14001, which shows that a product is environmentally friendly.

• Carbon Footprint Certification: Assesses and certifies the carbon footprint of a product or service.
4. Origin Certification: Certifies that a product is made from responsibly sourced materials, such as organic certification.
• Organic certification: Ensures that agricultural products are produced according to organic standards, without the use of toxic chemicals or pesticides.
• Fair Trade certification: Ensures that products are produced and traded fairly, supporting producers in developing countries.
Product certification process
1. Preparation: Businesses need to research and determine the type of certification that is appropriate for their products.
2. Internal assessment: Check the production process, product quality, and related factors to ensure that they meet the required standards.
3. Application and inspection: Businesses apply for certification and will be inspected by a certification organization.
4. Certification: If the product meets the standards, the business will receive certification.
5. Regular monitoring: Many certifications require periodic re-inspections to ensure that the standards are maintained.
